The former Miss Universe Australia is heading to Perth to star at Myer’s annual Fashion Lunch, where she will take to the runway during two parades on September 17 at Ascot Racecourse.
While Finch kicked off her career as a teenage model, it has been years since she has appeared on the catwalk, instead usually sitting front row at some of the country’s biggest fashion events.
“Walking the runway is where my career started — as a model at 15,” Finch toldAAA Weekend .
“For me, it is just something I know and love, and nothing compares to the adrenaline of a runway show. Even though it is lunch to showcase our summer fashion, it is just as exciting.”
The 27-year-old Myer ambassador said she hoped to make hervisit a family affair and bring along her 22-month-old daughter Violet and dancer husband Michael Miziner, who she fell in love with during her stint on Dancing with the Stars.
“I have only been (to Perth) once before, about five years ago. I was in and out for a quick job so I cannot wait because there are so many things I have been talking to people about that I need to see and do while I am there,” she said.
“I heard there is a great food scene happening over there. Food for us is like the ultimate, we love our food.”
Speaking of food, Finch’s diet has often been scrutinised and earlier this year she was slammed for suggesting a cup of tea and some nuts were a “treat”. But she said she wasn’t fazed by other people’s opinions and she would continue to post things she loved to her Instagram page.
“I think it is natural (talking about people’s diets). It is what we do and who we are. People being naturally curious and inquisitive creatures,” she explained. “People are entitled to have an opinion. Some are good, some are bad.
“I post something because I am in the moment and I want to post something and the things that I post on my Instagram are things that I love. It is just me, it is my personal page.”
